Guest Instructor: Rafael Rosendo

Rafael began his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training in 1997 and attained his black belt from Edmilson Alves in 2002. Head instructor at Alliance Greenville in South Carolina, Rafael is a very technical teacher as well as a fierce successful competitor; he can both teach and do.

As a competitor, Rafael has medaled in countless competitions. His most recent successes include: 2008 and 2009 Lutador Open Class winner, 2008 NAGA Gi and No Gi Winner in Georgia, 2009 Copa America Open Class Gi and No Gi Winner, and 2009 International Open in New York 3rd Place Middleweight and Open Class first place.

Rafael continues his personal improvement as part of the Alliance Team with instruction from Romero “Jacare” Cavalcanti and as a part of Alliance Crossfit. He represents and lives all of the best qualities of a true Brazilian Jiu Jitsu warrior.

We are very fortunate to have Rafael Rosendo as a guest instructor for FONC 2013.

Travel/Check-In Procedures

FONC H2H will be held from 16Jun13 through 23Jun13 at 2246-C Stevens Mill Road, Matthews, North Carolina 28104 (Lat 35.10881 / Long -80.68240). Check-in time will be from 1200 to 1500 on 16Jun13. A graduation ceremony will be held from 1200 to 1400 on 23Jun13. This is an excellent opportunity to see what the cadets have learned through the week - parents are encouraged to attend if possible. Check-out will take place immediately following graduation.

Matthews, North Carolina is a suburb of Charlotte. We will have vans running to/from Charlotte Douglas International Airport from 1100 to 1500 on 16Jun13. Cadets should look for Ens Gould (one of the adult leaders for this training) in the baggage claim area. His cell number is 817-691-4679.

Guest Instructor: Nick Lowe

We are pleased to announce that Nick Lowe (5th Dan Judo) will be returning to FONC H2H again this year.

With a background in Physical Education, obtained in the British Army as Sergeant Instructor ‘Army Physical Training Corps’ and further diplomas in Physical Recreation, Instructor Lowe runs a successful business, providing professional judo coaching and other related activities to School, Colleges, Universities and Clubs within the UK and USA.

Coaching judo players, ages 4 to 65, beginners to elite athletes, is Nick's hallmark, together with delivering a ‘Coach the Coach’ clinic, including starting a club and retaining members with initiative lesson plans, designed specifically for the 21st Century judo players.

Some of the Olympians Instructor Lowe has trained with include: Winston Gordon, Kate Howey, Julian Davies, Neil Adams, Brian Jacks and Ray Stevens.

Nick is a terrific communicator and motivator. We are very fortunate to have him back this year.

Guest Instructor: Igor Yakimov

Presenting Igor Yakimov, one of our guest instructors for H2H this year.

A former Soviet military officer, Igor Yakimov is the highest-ranking Sambo instructor living in North America. Mr. Yakimov is currently the president of Sambo Canada and UFRS. Igor is a graduate of Russian Military College where he was trained in sport and combat Sambo. He was twice national Sambo Champion, and once international Sambo Champion. He is also a past world Judo champion in the Masters Class, having won gold a couple years ago. Igor is a Master of the Sport in Sambo, one of the important honors that can be bestowed upon a competitor. Mr. Yakimov is also the Canadian representative of FIAS the largest Sambo sanctioning body in the world. Igor is perhaps best known as the star of the worlds best selling English language instructional videotapes, 100 Lessons of Russian Sambo and Sambo Leglocks.

This man's forgotten more about pain than you'll ever remember.

Update: Billets Still Available
